It’s now up to Google to index all this crap to embarass me at a future date

In case you’re one of the people Google Analytics swears to me actually visits this site, or anyone who shows up in the future and isn’t one of my real life friends who can just ask — I am retiring Lead In The Pipes. It’s been a really fun year or so, and I remain amazed that I posted on such a consistent basis, even after the premise of this blog — search engine results — dried up after my old job stopped providing me with free access to them. I just kept writing about nothing in particular, and to be honest, it was a blast.

I’m still going to be writing — just under my real name, and hopefully in a way that’s somewhat less abrasive to at least a few people. It’s not so much to avoid offending people, per se, but more to force myself to make better arguments than “this is fucking ridiculous”, which, while therapeutic, isn’t particularly enlightening to people who might not see things my way.

(I just accidentally typed “hopelessly” instead of “hopefully” in the last paragraph; sounds like a Freudian slip if I’ve ever heard one. Oh well.)

So if you read this site, and would like to read the new one, get a hold of me and ask for the new address. No, emailing Lead In The Pipes isn’t going to get it done — that thing is so full of spam it might as well be a sandwich from Linda, my old babysitter. But I’m sure you’ll find a way to track me down.

Despite Lead In The Pipes being read by almost no one outside of a couple buddies (which is fine — it was never intended to be anything else), and despite the fact that I will (and am already) continue to write on a new site just as often, and that even this post is probably unecessary considering these factors, I have a feeling I’ll still miss this site.

Especially since I renewed the domain name for 2 more years like, three months ago. Such an idiot.

See you around my new digs.
